Haxios Learning · Competitive programs for high school & college

It's a business challenge disguised as an engineering competition.

Haxios Learning runs a competition series for high school and college teams. Students programs virtual robots, plan their budget and strategy behind it, then go head-to-head in a tournament. Building it is only part of the score.

Venture Bot

The competition where the pitch counts as much as the code.

Teams of three to five make four decisions: who does what, how to spend a fixed budget, which technology to build with, and how to win in the arena. They present those decisions to a panel of industry judges, then their entry goes head-to-head with every other team's. The pitch is 30% of the score, match wins 50%, and how well the matches were played the last 20%.

It runs as a two-day event or a semester unit, and it's the format we started with.

  1. DecideTeam and roles, budget and configuration, language and technology, arena strategy. Written down, so the team can be held to it.
  2. PitchA short, timed presentation to professionals who fund and approve projects for a living.
  3. CompeteEvery team plays every team. Selected matches are screened for the whole event.
  4. ReflectEvery match can be replayed, so teams see where the plan held and where it broke.

A ladder, not a one-off

Teams play round after round. Results and arena craft points accumulate, and the standings are public.

No pitch, no panel

The season is pure competition. The ladder decides who advances.

The Haxios Cup

The top teams meet in a bracket, and the finale is screened for the whole school with live commentary.

Competition Season

One week or one semester. A team that gets better every round.

A season strings matches into a ladder in a single arena. Code improves between rounds, the standings tell everyone where they are, and the season ends with the Haxios Cup. It fits a one-week intensive, an after-school club term or a full semester course with the Cup in place of a final exam.
